Hello here,

who is your favorite actor for our beautiful Philippe du Plessis-Bellière?

Mine is the actor Evan Williams, he was wonderful in the tv show Versailles.

Look at it in the role of Chevalier de Lorraine. ;)

I have also wondered for a long time who could play such a physically perfect character, without finding an answer yet. Beauty is the primary characteristic of Philippe, constantly repeated by the narrator, by Angelique, by all the other characters and by himself.
Even the exceptional attractiveness of Angelique, much emphasized in the other volumes, takes second place, dominated by the amazing one of the Marquis. There is practically no character who does not mention the beauty of Philippe, famous and well-known, so much that the adjective "beautiful" almost becomes an epithet (with the variations "gorgeous", "splendid", "magnificent").
This is why I think that the actor Evan Williams, despite being a handsome young man, is not up to the perfection of Philippe, who, moreover, is taller (Ewan is 1.76 tall and in the Versailles television series you notice that he is shorter than the other protagonists). Young Brad Pitt or Robert Redford would be needed, or a guy like David Beckham.
I am outraged by the choices of the film directors in both the 1960s’ films and the 2013’s film: the chosen actors have dark eyes, dark hair and even dark skin, they are neither beautiful nor sexy. I wonder if the directors have read the books or if they have a kind of jealousy towards Philippe. A woman director would probably be needed to enhance the character.
